Welcome to ClassifiedMalta. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of classifiedmalta.com (the "Platform"). By registering an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ClassifiedMalta. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate. We reserve the right to request identity verification at any time and to suspend accounts where age cannot be confirmed.

2. Account registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@classifiedmalta.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may register using an email/password or via Google Sign-In. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it updated.

3. Verification tiers

ClassifiedMalta uses a tiered verification system:

  • Tier 0 (unverified): browsing only.
  • Tier 1 (Light): confirmed email, confirmed phone number, self-declared age 18+. Required to post in Experiences, Sea & Water, Food & Drinks, and Nightlife categories.
  • Tier 2 (Full): government ID and selfie verification. Required to post in the Dating category, and grants a verified badge visible to other users.

We reserve the right to request re-verification at any time, and to restrict or remove accounts where verification cannot be confirmed or is found to be fraudulent.

4. Posting rules

When creating a post, you agree that:

  • The content is truthful and represents a genuine plan or activity you intend to carry out.
  • You will not post content that is illegal, sexually explicit, discriminatory, harassing, or that promotes violence.
  • You will not use the Platform for commercial solicitation, spam, scams, or to advertise services outside the approved "Advertise an Event" flow.
  • You will not impersonate another person or misrepresent your age, identity, or intentions.
  • All posts are subject to moderator review before going live, and may be rejected or removed at our discretion.

5. Payments, pricing, and refunds

  • Posting a plan: €3 for a 7-day listing, or €5 for a 21-day listing.
  • Boost: €2.50 for 48 hours of top placement within your category.
  • Advertise an Event: packages start at €25 (Listed), €75 (Featured), and €180 (Headline), plus applicable VAT.
  • All prices are shown inclusive of Malta's 18% VAT at checkout.
  • Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • Refunds: if a post is rejected by moderation, you will receive a full automatic refund. If you voluntarily take down a live post before it expires, no refund is issued, as the listing has already run and served its purpose. Boost purchases are non-refundable once activated.
  • Chargebacks made in bad faith (e.g. disputing a charge for a post that was correctly delivered) may result in account suspension.

6. Interest, Ping, and messaging

  • Expressing interest in a post, or matching via the Ping system, opens a private conversation between you and the other user.
  • You agree to use the messaging system respectfully and in accordance with our Community Guidelines.
  • We may monitor conversations in response to a user report or where required for safety or legal purposes, but do not routinely read private messages.

7. Post ownership and takedown

You retain ownership of the content you post, but grant ClassifiedMalta a licence to display, distribute, and moderate it on the Platform. As the poster, you may take down your own post at any time from your profile. Taking a post down does not entitle you to a refund (see Section 5).

8. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or endanger other users.
  • Create fake profiles or misrepresent your identity, age, or verification status.
  • Attempt to circumvent the verification, payment, or moderation systems.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish content from the Platform without permission.
  • Use the Platform to solicit payment, gifts, or financial information from other users outside the agreed platform fees.
  • Upload malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with the Platform's operation.

Violations may result in content removal, warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account ban, at our sole discretion, in accordance with our Community Guidelines.

9. Reporting and moderation

Users can report posts, comments, and other users. All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. We may take action including content removal, warnings, suspension, or permanent bans, and — in cases of serious violation — we may add a user's email and phone number to a blacklist to prevent re-registration. Banned users may appeal a decision by contacting support@classifiedmalta.com.

10. Safety disclaimer

ClassifiedMalta verifies user identity and moderates content, but we cannot guarantee the safety of any in-person meeting arranged through the Platform. You are solely responsible for your own safety when meeting other users. We strongly recommend meeting in public places, telling a friend where you're going, and following the safety guidance in our Community Guidelines. ClassifiedMalta is not liable for any incident, injury, loss, or damage arising from interactions or meetings arranged through the Platform.

11. Intellectual property

All ClassifiedMalta branding, design, and platform code is the property of ClassifiedMalta and may not be copied or reused without permission. User-generated content remains the property of the user who created it, subject to the licence granted in Section 7.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClassifiedMalta is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malta and the European Union. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malta.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
